The 1939-1942 Ford 9N's had "Tractor Lite" headlamps made by C.M. HALL. They consisted of a 7-1/4 O.D. cone shaped housing, a painted bezel, a nickel plated reflector, bulb holder, non-sealed beam bulb, lens with the words "C.M.HALL AMP CO. DETROIT MICH TRACTOR LITE" embossed in the center of Click for larger view of headlamp differencesthe lens, and three wire clips to hold the lens in the bezel. Ford started making headlamps in 1943 that were 6" in diameter and were sealed beam units. Some were stamped with "Tract-O-Lite" and some were not. It's not known when the "Tract-O-Lite" logo was first stamped into the lights nor how long Ford made headlamps. It was believed that Ford made headlamps up to the 1950 8N model.
